Celebrating the 4th!

Cheekwood Celebrating the 4th

Happy 4th of July

There is no better way to celebrate the 4th than with fried chicken, potato salad, parades, flag waving, and singing songs about freedom. That was the way we began our 4th celebration on Thursday evening.

Cash and I got to show Daddy and Cillian where we spent our days at Art Camp last week. Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and Art Museum celebrated the 4th during their Thursday night Family Night Out. This Thursday featured children's entertainer Rachel Sumner. She led the children in a flag waving parade around the audience. I was so touched as I watched Cash wave his American flag and march around. Honestly, I am surprised he participated on his own. He asked me to go down to the front with him but when I said "why don't you go, I'll take pictures," he didn't hesitated to join the other children.

Cash and the children marched around and Cillian, Daddy and I waved and clapped. As the performer asked for more volunteers to play musical instruments Cash was right there in the thick of it all!! They sang "This Land is your Land" and "Yankee Doodle" it was a wonderful patriotic evening.

Cillian was into waving his American flag showing his pride. He was so cute dancing in the stroller, clapping and waving his flag. Oh, he enjoyed eating fried chicken, too!

At the end of the evening, both boys were so excited to change into their pj's in the back of the car. What a wonderful way to begin our celebration of our country's Independence!

What a fun time! We had a great day, too, as I pictured in my blog today. Now, we are just waiting to watch the fireworks from our upstairs windows since it is a tad late to take 2 kids under 5 to a crowded park for something that might finish up after 10pm!

That's terrific that Cash participated on his own. You have instilled that confidence in him to feel safe and to venture out. What a gift! Happy INDEPENDENCE Day!

Fun fun fun! You have a lovely family!

My husband took our oldest daughter there last Thursday to see Janet from Janet's Planet. They had a great time.

Let's try to stay in touch about the next Nashville women's blog meet up (which may or may not be called Margarit-Her Dos depending on location!) ;)
